When the Unthinkable Happens: 5 Lessons from the Afterlife

Hearing about the death of a family member has triggered some deep reflection today. I think back to losing my dad, and how painful the funeral and family drama really was for me and my sibling. Dealing with a close death was probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to go through, and I did it at such a young age. At the same time, it has taught me so much more about myself, existence, and divine timing than I could have ever imagined. It’s easy when something traumatic happens in this third dimensional reality to focus on the physical absence. What’s beautiful has been to see my dad reach out to us through undeniable signs, famous mediums, and not-so-famous intuitives during the passed eight years. I chronicle these life changing experiences in my upcoming book.

There are a few life and afterlife lessons I have learned definitively that I want to share with those who are grieving today:

1. Death is completely physical. Consciousness survives the physical death of the body. I received confirmation upon confirmation of this fact. One of the most hair raising moments was when it sounded like my dad’s voice and personality was literally coming through Theresa Caputo, TLC’s The Long Island Medium. Furthermore, modern science is also explaining death is an illusion through quantum physics.

2. While no one ever really dies, their perspective changes to a metaphysical perspective. They no longer see existence from this third dimensional, human experience. Having this new bird’s eye view enables our loved ones to watch over us and work with angels to bring us signs, serving a new purpose in our lives as guardian angels.

3. No matter how abrupt or untimely the death of someone seems, all death is on divine time. Awakening to this fact requires faith and trust. Like all experiences in life, we have the free will choice to let the experience tear us apart or make us stronger than ever. Making positive interpretations of death brings us to the highest perspective, inviting the miraculous into our lives.

4. Speaking with our deceased loved ones is only a mental phone call away. While I didn’t always get an immediate reply, my dad always heard me and found ways to answer my questions. Know that they do see us, hear us, and know what we are going through.

5. Our loved ones find their loved ones who have passed on the other side. No one is ever really alone and separation is an illusion. One of the first things my dad let me know is that he found his brother, which I wrote about how I came to know this years ago in my blog post “All Gays Go to Heaven“.

These lessons have been learned through a lot of tears, and a lot of healing. My heart goes out to everyone going through losing a loved one. My intention is to share my experiences with the hope it brings comfort to those who feel lost. No one ever really dies, and death is not the end, just a doorway. We all eventually walk through that door. Love shared is eternal, and you will meet again.

Label Me: The Human Condition

Nothing ever stays the same, yet year after year so much changes that it still surprises me. We are constantly evolving, searching and experiencing. Throughout this life, we find ourselves moving in different directions, trying on new labels for ourselves, and moving on to the next. We are a child, a best friend, a student, a lover, an ex-girlfriend, a friend, a roommate, and a soulmate. We go through all of these labels, all the while exchanging experiences with other labels like teacher, boyfriend, boss, and grandma. We are constantly interacting with a sea of faces that go on swapping labels, like best-friend, coworker, and date. At the end of the day, we have a hard time looking past the labels we use to define others’ relationships to us, as well as defining ourselves.

“Behind every atom of this world hides an infinite universe.” – Rumi

Remember, that you are a reflection of the divine. You are a part of the universe, and the universe is a part of you. You are part of all that ever is, all that ever was, and all that ever will be. We are infinite beings, experiencing a finite existence. To get caught up in the matters on the surface is to lose sight of the infinite reality that is your soul: the ghost operating and observing the three-dimensional vessel that is your body. Anything that ever took place in your life is timeless. Anyone you ever exchanged experiences with in this existence is infinitely a part of your story as you are of theirs. Being a part of a creation that is happening through us, and not just to us, is to recognize the divine in every experience you’ll ever have. The truth is, you are as infinite as the entire universe as well as a mere piece of it. As much as change appears to be a reality, there is a constant divine flow that runs through absolutely everything, as we are all a part of all of creation. The next time you catch yourself labeling anything or anyone, consider this: To label yourself as anything less than infinite is to sell yourself short.

Living Consciously

We have been conditioned from birth to feel the need to expand ourselves, to set goals, to achieve, to acquire. Once we accomplish a goal, we move on to the next, always needing to validate our lives with the next big accomplishment. The problem with always having your sights on the future is that you might just miss the journey. Every moment you spend awake, consciously in a state of just being is a blessing and a miracle. There is no need to validate your miraculousness.

Take a moment each morning to set a new goal for yourself: to relax and enjoy every moment of the day. When we rest, and nurture ourselves, we grow without striving and struggling. When we are rested and practice mindfulness, ideas will come naturally. If that leads to be a future accomplishment, let it, but don’t let your mind dwell in the future. The more we go with the flow, stay present in the here and now, and honor ourselves as whole beings, the less we need to struggle. We push against the energy of the universe when we vibrationally tell the world we need more. When we honor what we have and who we are as whole, we send the vibration of leading a whole life. This is the foundation of living a conscious life.

Julie Tour Discusses 5 Simple Steps to Develop Psychic Awareness

My passion is to help people develop their own psychic abilities, re-establishing a personal connection to the divine. If you have not yet had a spiritual experience, it is more than likely your lifestyle keeping you in a certain consciousness. My journey is not the only possible journey, but I have definitely picked up a few things that have tremendously helped my intuition and psychic experiences along the way that I would like to share with you. Please feel free to post any feedback, questions, or tips you have picked up yourself while developing your intuition. Namaste xo.

God Bless This Mess

Had to share a post from my Instagram @julietour:

Sheryl Crow concert August 2008 with my BFF Mike!

I write about this night in great detail in my upcoming book. This night was a few months before my father passed. Sheryl opened up with a song that forever changed my views on consciousness called “God Bless This Mess.”

I was working at my Dad’s insurance office at the time for a company that my Mom had also worked for, and coincidentally was how they were first introduced. My parents names are Robert and Teresa.

Song Lyrics: “Got a job in town selling insurance on the phone with Robert and Teresa and two con men from back home. Everyone I call up doesn’t have the time to chat. Everybody is so busy doing this and doing that. Something has gone missing and it makes me kind of sad. God Bless This Mess.”

Other than my parents names and insurance, the rest of it didn’t make sense till years later. I ended up working for an office within a mile from my Dad’s old office years after he passed. I worked with people from the area where our first house was located. I found myself in a situation where I ended up being in a whistleblower situation with a couple of the guys I was working with. I also developed a texting word track and strategy that agents still use today because people weren’t answering sales calls as much as they used to. The song popped on my iPod one day when I was meditating and asking for guidance about how unhappy I was in that office. It was amazing that lyrics someone wrote years prior lined up with my life perfectly. I felt my Dad was watching over me. This situation not only proved to me that consciousness survives after death, but also that time is anything but linear. I firmly believe that God works through each one of us like he worked through Sheryl Crow to bring me a divine message… All we have to do is be authentic in our self expression.

I have gone through a huge spiritual transformation during the past 6 years. People wonder how I had such a dramatic restoration of faith. It is honestly because dramatic signs like this keep happening to me! And all I had to do was ask the angels for help with an open, loving heart. I am an ordinary girl who has been blessed to have some extraordinary experiences. The spiritual experience is here for everyone.

Welcome to the New Age: Transformation of the Collective Consciousness

When I first “woke up” spiritually, it was an alarming experience to realize many of the people I knew and came to love were still sleeping. Being spiritually aware beyond any doubt is a beautiful experience, but sometimes the fear has its way to creep in, and you may feel isolated and lonely at times. I wouldn’t trade my dark nights of the soul for anything. The experience makes you strong and lovingly powerful. A dark night of the soul has birthed some profound prophets and healers. Ancient Egyptians took the experience of a dark night of the soul as a right of passage. Egyptians would shut themselves in a coffin for days, left to only the darkness and their own thoughts. They either died of fright from their own fears, or emerged stronger and wiser.

I was frightened at first to share my experiences or beliefs for fear of what others would think. These fears have proven themselves insignificant. Sure, some people that were once in my life are no longer there due to rejecting my new look on life. I find that the changes in friendships have been to my benefit. It has been so rewarding to find that the more I speak my truth, the more people who are spiritually aware have walked into my life, and the more my long time friends with similar closeted beliefs now step forward. The long conversations, synchronistic encounters and events, and the ideas that we have all shared are truly priceless.

As a child, I heard many theories about the new age- the golden age, and the transformational shift in consciousness our time period would be undergoing. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine how real and beautiful all of the predictions of the new age truly were. Heaven on Earth is a choice. It is a choice we make every second of our lives. It is a choice to have our thoughts dwell in a spiritual direction, and to attract miracles. To have your mind open in a spiritual direction will help you manifest profound psychic experiences. The opposite is also true, that if you close yourself off to the possibility of spiritual experiences, you may never have the experience.

Keep an open mind, have lovingly honest conversations, and watch your life shift in a positive direction. Not everyone will make it in this lifetime but that is also their free will choice to do so. Don’t label someone as negative or not spiritual since it discourages others even further. I always say it just hasn’t happened yet for them, but it will. I’ve seen some people make dramatic changes, including myself. No one is ever really lost and the spiritual path is here for everyone when they are ready.

Consciousness in an Acorn

20131127-174445.jpg

I was driving the other day near my house and came across a road called “Lonesome Oak.” I started thinking about human beings’ tendency to project human emotions on nature (which we so often do). Many in our society view Oak as the loneliest tree. I grew up attending a small school in the country and know from my schooling there that Oak trees have to have enough space in the soil for their complicated root systems. Other trees cannot be planted next to an Oak if you want it to be healthy. It never dawned on me as a child that the Oak is a lonely tree. The tree receives all the nourishment it needs from it’s personal sources: the Earth below and the Sun above. It does not need tree companions to do what it is in existence to do: grow. However, I can see from a very physical perspective how an Oak could look lonely to the untrained eye because the tree is often alone from other trees.

Consciousness can essentially be explained in an acorn. Humans can be viewed like an Oak tree. From a physical perspective, human beings could look very lonely on their own. Many people who live an unconscious life actually become scared to be physically alone since they cannot see beyond the physical veil. Like the roots of an Oak tree into the Earth, our minds are connected to infinite energy and consciousness. We can harness energy and knowledge from the source without needing to take the energy and resources from our peers. Like the Oak tree, the natural state of consciousness is to grow and expand. If an Oak tree decided to be planted next to another Oak tree, both Oak would experience less than prime health. When we lean on our fellow men instead of the one true source within us, our understanding becomes limited. We can do this on our own. We do not need a priest, a temple, a guru friend, or any external guidance. Living a conscious, healthy, and positive life can plant future acorns of peace for future generations of Oak Trees to grow big and strong.

Since all human conflict arises out of the appearance of lack, take a moment to imagine a world where everybody had enough abundance to go around because of the eternal and personal connection to source. Looks pretty amazing, right? Some say it would be chaos without the man made rules we impose on ourselves, but those in the know understand that reestablishing a personal connection to the divine source diminishes any seeming conflict. Abundance for all is within our reach. It is our challenge this life to bring peace to a world who is just beginning to understand what true abundance looks like. Peace on Earth is not only very possible, but completely attainable for everyone.

Manifesting with Peaceful Thoughts on World Peace Day

20130922-013919.jpg

In honor of world peace day, I am focusing on peaceful, loving thoughts towards all on Earth. Never underestimate the power of thought. Everything in your life was once a thought. Thoughts are a form of energy that manifests itself through our physical action steps. Realizing that thoughts create and attract your reality is the key to manifesting a beautiful, meaningful life for yourself. If you could imagine the world as a big, glass house and our negative thoughts as stones, you can start to imagine the implications of negative feelings or thoughts. Many have used this analogy of a glass house for negative words or name-calling, assuming words are the only means we have to communicate what we individually think to the world. I am taking it a step further and saying thoughts as stones for a reason. Consider that everything really is a part of the divine, or infinite wisdom. Imagine your thoughts are not only fueling yourself, but also this infinite wisdom, because in truth you are a child of the divine. What if you thought a mean comment about somebody? What if you and this person truly are connected to this infinite wisdom? Consequently, on an energetic level you and this other person are connected. Could the other person feel this thought-attack? The answer is yes according to many. This is what is known as a “psychic attack”. This can sometimes even cause a person physical pain or mental fatigue, even though the person may not be consciously aware of where this energy is coming from.

What this means as a society is that everyone’s masks are falling down. As people realize we are all connected, a newfound respect for all of life is discovered. We can no longer pretend that everything is okay when we feel deep down it is not. The most liberating time of our lives is upon us. No more lies, not even white lies are in our future. The song “Man in the Mirror” by Michael Jackson really speaks to me on this topic. If everyone looked inside and made a mental change to feed the positive energy in their minds with positive thoughts and not the ego-centric naysayer, the world would change in miraculous ways right before our eyes. We are the only ones holding ourselves back. Let’s change that and evolve.

We all historically have judged each other to the point that people find it extremely difficult to trust others, and for good, logical reason based solely on past experience. I don’t know about all of you but I am so tired of letting the past dictate our future. Advanced Statistics was difficult for me for a reason, not because I couldn’t understand the process of how to find something out based on the data given but because the overall concepts do not align with my own personal beliefs. When the future of the world becomes more open and unpredictable, stats will become obsolete. The past will no longer be an accurate predictor of our future.

I truly want to show everyone that the cliches are true, that if you can dream it, you can truly accomplish it. The truth is, we are all prophets and manifesters. I have to quote a lyric of a Sheryl Crow song: “Every man is his own prophet; every prophet, just a man.” I believe each of us have intuitive capabilities and potential for deep spiritual growth. Of course, look into your heart to see if this resonates with your soul. I pray that you all find that place. It is not impossible, no matter how far away you feel from your spirituality. You can change absolutely everything about your life. It is never too late to join the party. Together, everyday can be world peace day.
