Facing Perception and Rejection

During the time in my life I consider my spiritual awakening, everything I had come to know was transitioning. I had surrounded myself in high school and college with very judgmental people who loved to gossip, chase wealth, party, and position themselves as elite in many ways. It has taken many years to funnel the people out of my life who refused to grow, and surround myself with totally accepting, loving people. I started this journey alone in many respects as I let go of those that no longer had my best interest at heart. I had experienced so many synchronistic moments after my dad had passed that I was busting at the seams wanting to share them. I sometimes worried about what others would think of me if I openly talked about signs from heaven and life after death. The beautiful truth that the dead are never lost is something that I wanted to share beyond myth, legend, and fairytale. Synchronicity made this truth tangible for me, and I felt my story would help others. Synchronicity taught me that all beings are deeply connected, even in death. I felt a deep calling to make this work the center of my life.

There was one day in particular, right after I quit the insurance biz and focused on writing, that I meditated outside behind my apartment in the sun. There was a long stretch of grass near the woods that lined up against my complex that I often liked to visit. It was a gorgeous spring day. I sat concentrating on a patch of dandelions nearby. The only way I can describe my state of being was one of a blissful trance. I was beaming from the inside out and smiling. I felt at peace with myself and finally free from pressures of a stuffy business job and business school. I knew others (at least the others that were in my life at that point in time) would not understand my choices, but I wanted to share this peace I had found with the world.
A thought came to me as I happily sat near a bunch of dandelions, enjoying their beautiful bright yellow color that resonated with me as such a happy flower. I thought about how many people think of this beautiful flower as a weed. I realized that I was very much like a dandelion as well. I remember concentrating on a particular sentence as I continued to meditate: “Some people think I am a weed, but really I am a beautiful flower.” This truth truly freed me from any perceived judgements of others. At that moment, it didn’t matter what anyone said or thought about me. My heart was full of love and my soul was lit by a calling to share my spiritual experiences, no matter how others perceived my choices.

I sat in the sun for quite some time until finally I decided to make my way back to my apartment. As I opened the screen door, I was greeted by my two miniature dachshunds, Reesie and Scooby. Over their happy yelps and wagging tails due to my return home, I heard my email notification on my iPhone go off. I picked up my phone off of the kitchen table to check it out. It was a Live Nation email letting me know I was eligible for a pre-sale for my husband’s favorite band that was going to be playing across the street at Meadowbrook, where they had never played before. I could often hear bands play there from my place it was so close. Extremely interested, I scrolled down the email to get the code. To my absolute joy, the code for the pre-sale just happened to be “dandelion” when moments ago I had meditated so intensely on a dandelion. Albert Einstein once said coincidence is God’s way of remaining anonymous. I took this meaningful coincidence as validation of my break through. When synchronicity happens, I often perceive the meaningful coincidence as the universe’s way of telling me to keep going.

From that moment on, I haven’t cared about what other people think of me. If there is one thing I learned from that experience it is that even if the majority of the population perceives you as a weed, you will still find others out there who know you as the beautiful flower you are. The perception of a weed and a flower is only established by your mentality. The way you view the world is your choice. To let others’ choices define you is a mistake in thinking. My hope is that this story helps you overcome the judgement of others and know true freedom to be yourself.

Living Consciously

We have been conditioned from birth to feel the need to expand ourselves, to set goals, to achieve, to acquire. Once we accomplish a goal, we move on to the next, always needing to validate our lives with the next big accomplishment. The problem with always having your sights on the future is that you might just miss the journey. Every moment you spend awake, consciously in a state of just being is a blessing and a miracle. There is no need to validate your miraculousness.

Take a moment each morning to set a new goal for yourself: to relax and enjoy every moment of the day. When we rest, and nurture ourselves, we grow without striving and struggling. When we are rested and practice mindfulness, ideas will come naturally. If that leads to be a future accomplishment, let it, but don’t let your mind dwell in the future. The more we go with the flow, stay present in the here and now, and honor ourselves as whole beings, the less we need to struggle. We push against the energy of the universe when we vibrationally tell the world we need more. When we honor what we have and who we are as whole, we send the vibration of leading a whole life. This is the foundation of living a conscious life.

Beyond the Superstition: Friday the 13th

Where we find superstition in our society, I find that there is a real, higher science explanation. We often fear what we have yet to understand. After studying numerology, I find that fears regarding numbers have to do entirely with perception. We perceive things within a range of a love vibration and a vibration of fear. The number thirteen has been both feared and celebrated throughout history. Furthermore, our thoughts affect our reality. We can attract tangible things from non-tangible thoughts ( See Living the Law of Attraction) .

If we wake up expecting bad things to happen, you will attract that experience. The opposite is also true. This is why studying the positive frequency within numbers can help you attract positivity. For instance, seeing 666 can either paralyze you with fear or help you re-center your thoughts on light and love, depending on your beliefs. An angel frequency of 666 means that your guides are bringing your attention to the fact that you should let go of fearful illusions and that you may be too materially mindful in that moment. The number thirteen has many meanings. Our negative perception of 13 can come from the number of knots on a noose, the number of witches in a covent, and the thirteenth card in tarot, an ancient form of fortune telling, being death. Of course, death is not always a bad card. Death, after all, can mean a new beginning.

In numerology, 1’s have to do with manifestation and 3’s have to do with ascension and those who have ascended, like Jesus and Buddha. Thirteen signifies, in new age philosophy, the divine feminine, specifically female ascended masters like Quan Yin and Lakshmi. Most women have 13 menstruation cycles in a year, giving the number feminine energy. According to Angel Numerologist and clairvoyant, Doreen Virtue, PhD, 13 signifies that the female ascended masters are helping you manifest positivity by keeping your thoughts positive.

Our founding fathers in America respected the number 13 and harnessed the energy to bless our nation. Some of our greatest thinkers in America’s history including Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and George Washington to name a few, belonged to the Freemasons who believed 13 to have a spiritual purpose. Our dollar bill is littered with 13, from rows of bricks on the pyramid, to the 13 arrows in the eagle’s left talon, to the 13 leaves and 13 olives on the branch.

IMG_0359Friday the 13th is a day of divine energy and manifestation. Your thoughts will determine what you manifest. Will your day be one filled with bad luck or one filled with divine blessings? That is truly the beauty of being free willed beings. You have the opportunity to harness the energy to create whatever experience you desire. Law of attraction is a higher science we are just beginning to understand and see evidence of in our society. Since we are heading in to a weekend of love, focusing on the energy of love can attract more of the experience into your life.

To keep your thoughts positive, use this affirmation:

I am a being of love, and I intentionally manifest a day of love for myself and everyone I come in contact with today.

Happy Friday the Thirteenth!

Tales of a Spiritually-Closeted Socialite

2015/01/img_0179.jpg

Growing up, it was common knowledge for me that we had past lives, angels were real, and our loved ones never truly left us. My mom often taught my sister and I about angels and how to ask for help. We were taught to shield ourselves with white light. If we needed help with anything, we were taught to say “on Angels’ wings…”, something that my sister got tattooed as an adult. As I got older, these beliefs became internal and less acknowledged in everyday interactions. I often explained why I was a vegetarian to people, because I believed humans and animals come from the same source, but I never got much more into it than that.

My dad passed away a month before my 21st birthday. What is an American college girl to do to get over her grief? I started going out… a lot. I was the girl who orchestrated nights out, limos, and townhouse parties. As my social network grew, I often threw VIP parties at local bars, and organized themed parties at my place. I filled my grief with friends and vodka. I didn’t care if you were gay, straight, considered an outcast in high school, or what your background was. I knew life can be hard and that everyone deserved a good time. I feel that’s why so many different kinds of people were friendly with me. If you were the odd one out because you couldn’t afford to come, I would pay. If you needed a ride, I would drive. If you wanted a place to crash, I would accommodate. I loved bringing different people together and having a good time. My little pockets of friends became one big circle. I never wanted the party to end. While I delved deeper into the social scene in southeast Michigan, and made friends around my college, I also started receiving signs and messages from my father through psychics and tangible signs at synchronistic moments, which wasn’t the lightest party subject. I kept a lot of my experiences to myself for awhile. I would go out with metaphysical crystals in my purse, and an angel wing around my neck, all the while feeling a little bit like a hypocrite and not completely myself.

Through my journey I realized my most dramatic signs were experienced while sober. My biggest breakthroughs happened when I gave up drinking. I made a promise to myself to do whatever it took to take care of myself and help my intuition. I started using natural beauty products, gave up drinking, drank lots of fruit smoothies, and ate lots of healthful veggies and fruits (See video: 5 Steps to Develop Psychic Awareness). Signs were coming to me all the time, but I often missed my friends.

While most of my “party” friends lost interest in me when I stopped going out, I hung on to a few. For the sake of privacy, we will be calling my best friend, Miles. Miles and I loved going to a gay bar named Pronto in Royal Oak for Karaoke night. I remember deciding to go out again for the first time since I promised myself to take better care of myself. It would be my first sober night at this particular place.

Miles and I made our way over to the bartenders, who knew our names. I ordered a lemonade instead of my usual raspberry stoli and lemonade. The music was loud and the place was only mildly busy. We stood next to the bar, avoiding blocking others who wanted to walk up for a drink.

I started telling Miles about the increase in signs I had been getting. He knew I had experienced numerology signs, but it was evolving (See video: Signs from Heaven Using Numerology).

“It’s more than just repeating numbers now at weird times. It’s been feathers and pennies lately,” I said loudly over the music. ” I will be thinking about my dad or Angels and I will see a penny in a weird place or a feather will come into my view at that moment.”

While I was looking at Miles, I felt as if something dropped on my right foot. I looked down to see a penny facing up on my black, knee-high boot.

“Umm, are you serious right now?” I exclaimed to my friend. “Did you drop that?”

“No,” Miles answered as he held his drink.

We both looked around. There wasn’t anyone next to us or any sign of someone passing by. At that moment, we both looked up as if it fell from the sky and laughed. Miles had this contagious, goofy laugh everyone loved to mimic. The old bar ceiling was painted a dark color and had patterns that suggested it was built a century ago. It had no logical place a penny could have fallen from.

“That’s really weird,” Miles said, still laughing.

I couldn’t help but smile. I was elated at the sight of a sign right on cue.

“See what I mean! There are even Angels with us right here in the gay bar!” I said, excitedly.

Those moments taught me that the divine is everywhere with everyone, no exceptions. The absence of the divine is just perception from man and is a fallacy. Even in a late night bar with drunken people, the divine is there. No one is excluded. No moment is excluded. It took a night out in a different state of mind to marry my two experiences of life: a party girl, and a spiritual practitioner. Perception is everything.

The Other Side of Tragedy

20141019-141130.jpg

I am always genuinely smiling no matter what is going on in life. Even while facing the most adverse situations in my life, I always find happiness. How you may ask? The truth is, it is all about perspective.

When I look back in my life, whether it be losing a scholarship, losing my father to cancer, or losing a child, every tragic situation has changed my life. I view even perceived problems by many as blessings from God. Whenever something major happens, it is as if God sent me a magical shift in my life’s road map. Even chaotic situations eventually settle. Where the dust settles always turns out to be exactly what I needed, even if I couldn’t see it at the time. Trust, have faith, keep moving forward and be happy in knowing that everything turns out exactly as it’s supposed to with divine blessings for all. Having this mentality will literally align your life in miraculous ways.

Is that You or your Ego?

20140829-150409.jpg

We are free will beings. We can choose which to bring into this world: loving-self or ego-self. Ego judges and punishes. Love forgives and heals. Love is the only thing that is real.

Never take someone’s ego personally. No matter how they behave, they are still a creation from the divine. Don’t get caught up in someone’s projection of an illusion. As it is their free will choice to act in a loving way, or an ego-centric way, it is your choice whether or not to be hurt by someone else’s behaviors. Stay in the light. ✌

Surrender Your Ego: Get Out of Your Own Way!

20140728-193958.jpg

It seems so simple to say get out of your own way, but its a point so many people on this planet miss. Are you your own worst critic? Are you fearful of making a bad choice? Are you scared to fail? Do you turn down opportunities after talking yourself out of it? Do you talk yourself out of trying something new? Do you convince yourself that mediocrity is okay? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this message is for you.

I meet so many who block their own abundance in their lives. Worry and doubts can attract the very miserable experiences you are trying to avoid. I have been guilty of it myself so I am speaking from a place of love so that the next person can avoid it. I don’t know about you, but at the end of the day I don’t want to say I simply “got through” my life. I want to enjoy all that life has to offer. The best way to do this is to become a “Yes Man” to God, the Angels, and the Universe with every good thing that presents itself to you.

God wants to shower us with infinite abundance. It took me a long time to realize that it takes a great deal of energy to be broke and manifest misery. If you constantly talk yourself out of opportunities, people, and new things, you may totally be missing your boat to abundance. If you control others trying to help you out of fear and turn them down, you are blocking the help coming your way. The good news is that there are an infinite number of opportunities available. It is never too late to start to notice the chance meetings, good information, or people coming your way.

I strongly believe God works through us and reaches down to us through others. It’s time to get out of your own way and enjoy everything the Universe has to offer. No more excuses. Know in your heart that abundance is here for you, and take the action steps you are guided to take. If your path isn’t clear, meditate. Ask for a sign. Do something. Anything is better than staying passive. I promise you that the Universe will answer. It’s time to let go, surrender the fears from your ego, and start living the promises today.

Seeing the World through Angel Eyes

20140614-154059.jpg

How you see the world says everything about you inside. The law of attraction will bring to you events that mirror your thoughts. Your perception of reality, people, places, things, determines your experiences. We live in a reality of vibrations. Everyone has the potential to be in a range from a highest vibrational to lowest vibrational resonance, energetically.

Consider this. When was the last time you judged someone? Was it because of a behavior? If everyone’s thoughts affect everyone else and all of your experiences, you can not only attract people who mirror you but you can choose which vibrational frequency you attract out of an individual. Do you bring out the worst or best in someone? Is your lower self attracted into seeing someone’s lowest qualities? Or do you truly see the best in everyone, through an unconditional, loving Angel View? While there are no perfect people, I believe it’s possible to recognize the divine spark of light in every single person you meet. To recognize any other part of them as their true identity is an illusion.

Coming Out of the Spiritual Closet

20140606-153227.jpg

It sounds like such a simple concept: be you. However, I find that many of us do not even realize the masks we wear until we begin to dismantle what we know to be true. What do I mean by dismantling? This happens on the spiritual path as we begin to question everything we have been told and why we are the way we are. The process of questioning reality and what makes you you can actually be a painful process. However, a dark night of the soul can bring you amazing insights into what reality is and who we are as spiritual beings.

Dismantling myself, I found myself at odds with my actions initially. I felt who I am at my core was not being projected into my career path and relationships at the time. Taking a step back, I found myself people pleasing all of my life. Being a people pleaser can be a very dangerous thing. In the end, you can lose yourself entirely. People pleasing will bring you fake friends, a lackluster career, and easily manipulated decision making. This is something that is easily forgivable and remedied by stepping into your power, and making the decision to be assertive in your actions from this moment on. If you don’t stick up for yourself, no one else will.

In our society it is so easy to be caught up in media and relationships that we are practically spoon fed what music we like, what kind of clothes we wear, and what kind of food we eat by conforming to a standard society has set. If you disagree, take a step back and ask yourself, how did I come to this decision? How was the concept introduced into my life? Do I do this because I want to, or because its what is expected of me?

Going against the grain can seem frightening. Sometimes the conflict phobic spiritual person would rather put on a smile to keep everyone else happy and laughing versus questioning what someone else is saying. In sales, we are taught to “mirror” clients, matching their personality, tone, and speaking style. In many cases, I find we mirror each other in public. I find it dishonest and two faced. Furthermore, the minute you decide someone else’s ego projection is more important than being the real you is the minute you’ve given up your personal power. What is so important about fitting in with someone? Society is nothing to be scared of. Society is nothing but a multitude of individuals. Individuality is something to be celebrated, not feared. One individual can positively influence the whole.

I know many people who read my blog and watch my youtube channel, but are scared to publicly like it. They private message me compliments and share similar, closeted stories. I also know people who tell me they believe in telepathy, but would rather keep it a secret, scared of being scorned by the public. There was also a point in my life where I, without a shred of doubt, had a past life experience, and was too scared to publicly admit it because it went against everything I was taught in Catholicism. Here’s a little secret. Not everyone is going to like you no matter what you do. Wouldn’t you rather be loved and accepted for who you are rather than a facade in order to fit in?

Dita Von Teese said it so eloquently when she said, “You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world, and there will still be someone who doesn’t like peaches.” And so what? If your goal is to get everyone to like you, you are fighting a battle that can’t be won. Realizing this, I have decided to put my truth out there and my beliefs, regardless of the outcome. Sure, some people don’t like it. My IQ has been insulted (even though I tested gifted). My experiences have been belittled (mostly by people who are too blinded to accept anything outside of their belief system). I’ve also lost some friends. But here is the silver lining. No matter what anyone says, amazing opportunities have presented themselves to me. I’ve gained more friends that can identify and live by the message I bring. I have found that many people have shared my experiences. In essence, I have found my tribe. I encourage you and invite you to step into who you really are 100% of the time. Changes will undoubtedly follow, but there will be improvements. Being who you really are will bring you into the direction of your life’s purpose. Only you can be you. Creator made you for a reason. Choose to fulfill that reason today. You always have the free will choice to ignore your purpose, but finding your purpose is so rewarding. No one else can fulfill this but you. “Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” ― Dr. Seuss

Perception of Crazy in an Evolving Society
