Consciousness in an Acorn

I was driving the other day near my house and came across a road called “Lonesome Oak.” I started thinking about human beings’ tendency to project human emotions on nature (which we so often do). Many in our society view Oak as the loneliest tree. I grew up attending a small school in the country and know from my schooling there that Oak trees have to have enough space in the soil for their complicated root systems. Other trees cannot be planted next to an Oak if you want it to be healthy. It never dawned on me as a child that the Oak is a lonely tree. The tree receives all the nourishment it needs from it’s personal sources: the Earth below and the Sun above. It does not need tree companions to do what it is in existence to do: grow. However, I can see from a very physical perspective how an Oak could look lonely to the untrained eye because the tree is often alone from other trees.

Consciousness can essentially be explained in an acorn. Humans can be viewed like an Oak tree. From a physical perspective, human beings could look very lonely on their own. Many people who live an unconscious life actually become scared to be physically alone since they cannot see beyond the physical veil. Like the roots of an Oak tree into the Earth, our minds are connected to infinite energy and consciousness. We can harness energy and knowledge from the source without needing to take the energy and resources from our peers. Like the Oak tree, the natural state of consciousness is to grow and expand. If an Oak tree decided to be planted next to another Oak tree, both Oak would experience less than prime health. When we lean on our fellow men instead of the one true source within us, our understanding becomes limited. We can do this on our own. We do not need a priest, a temple, a guru friend, or any external guidance. Living a conscious, healthy, and positive life can plant future acorns of peace for future generations of Oak Trees to grow big and strong.

Since all human conflict arises out of the appearance of lack, take a moment to imagine a world where everybody had enough abundance to go around because of the eternal and personal connection to source. Looks pretty amazing, right? Some say it would be chaos without the man made rules we impose on ourselves, but those in the know understand that reestablishing a personal connection to the divine source diminishes any seeming conflict. Abundance for all is within our reach. It is our challenge this life to bring peace to a world who is just beginning to understand what true abundance looks like. Peace on Earth is not only very possible, but completely attainable for everyone.

The School of Life

Everyone you meet is a divine appointment and opportunity for growth. Remember that you chose to come here. You are not a victim of the human experience. The human experience is a choice. Earth is a school. Rumi believed that each of us is the universe experiencing itself and learning through itself. Every person you have ever met, every person you know, and every person you will ever meet is here to teach you something. Your interpretations of the lessons learned determines your outlook and your experience here. Choose your thoughts about others wisely. Look at others through the lens of compassion.

Myth Buster: Unrequited Love

Unrequited love does not exist in our universe. Consider the text book definition. The dictionary defines unrequited as “not reciprocated or returned in kind.” I am already hearing the cries, “But Johnny didn’t love me!” or “I was never good enough for him!” or better yet, “She never even noticed me.” I still stand by my statement that unrequited love is a myth in this universe.

Why a myth, you ask? Love is a form of energy, and energy in our universe is never really lost. As a society, we have gotten so caught up in the physicality of “boy meets girl- falls in love” that we lose the sense of what love really is. Consider that everything in the universe is connected with energy. Consciousness in essence is where your thoughts dwell. While some may stay locked in the cause and effect, linear mentality, others transcend that limiting belief. Some say that the smallest shift in consciousness can ripple throughout time and space. One physical moment of deep love can leave it’s ripple effect throughout your entire life unbeknownst to you for most of your physical life.

Love is the highest vibrational emotion you can emit. In the material world, if you find yourself getting caught up loving someone who does not seem to physically reciprocate your feelings, remember that the energy you are emitting is never wasted and should not discourage you from being a vessel of love. Many people will harden their hearts to keep the hurt out, but in truth you are only hurting the self from cutting it off from the universe. Be as soft as you were before the seemingly unpleasant experience. The universe always matches your vibrational frequency. If you find yourself sending love to someone and physically, they do not do the same, do not let it bring you down. Stay in love. Be open to receiving it back from the universe in other ways– even though it is not what you originally expected. The universe can shower back your love in many different ways: more leisure, abundance, golden opportunities, or new loving people in your life. The possibilities are endless. The truth is we do live in a very loving universe. Unrequited love was invented by man’s meek understanding of the notion of love from a very physical perspective. Love is always returned to you, no matter how different the outward appearance may initially seem.
