Plant Power: The Gains of Veganism

Compassion begins on your plate!!! There are a million benefits to consider adopting a plant based diet. When I look back to every winter I grew up in Michigan, I spent a lot of time doing outdoor sports. I remember a day of snowboarding all day with my family when I was in high school. We went up north for the week to snowboard specifically, but after the very first day of boarding, I was so sore I didn’t want to snowboard day two.

Never did I ever imagine that 15 years later, not only would I get back on a snowboard this year, but I was in such good shape, I wasn’t even sore the next day. 🤷‍♀️ It’s not that snowboarding has gotten easier, it’s that I’ve gotten stronger. The ease of it made me feel magically free. And this directly correlates with my lifestyle change that came with a vegan diet.

Victories like these can’t be measured by just the weight on a scale: snowboarding with ease at age 30, to finally getting to ride a roller coaster I was kicked off of for being 100 lbs heavier, to even lifting a case of water up the stairs and not relying on a boy to lift my things for the first time in my life. When you focus on becoming a better you every day, it comes back in major ways. It’s amazing that someone that helps the environment and the animals so much also gets help right back. ✨💚🌱
